Fossil Watch
Repair
Watches are not for just telling the time
anymore, but it is a fashion statement. People buy watches for
different outfits so they have different looks. One of the most
popular watches are the Fossil watches because they are great
looking and very affordably
priced.
There are Fossil
watches for men as well
as Fossil watches for women. They have a variety of watches from elegant dressy
to casual sporty. But while Fossil does make great quality
watches, there are times when repairs are needed. You
definitely want to keep your watch maintained so they run
for a very long time. The great thing about Fossil is that
their watches are covered under an 11 year warranty. Not
every single thing is covered under this warranty but we
will go into what is and is not covered.
You could always try to fix the watch
yourself but the short answer will be to not even try it.
Watches require skilled expertise and unless you are an expert
and had worked with watches before, don't even try to fix it
yourself. Especially with the great coverage by the Fossil
warranty for repairs, you would be better off not trying to fix
it yourself.
What common problems that require a Fossil watch
repair?
There are a number of things that can go
wrong with your watch whether it is a defective workmanship
error or it is from improper care. These are the most common
problems that people deal with.
- Issues with Movement and
Dials. This is a very common issue and an example
is if two hands meet, they stop working or if one of the
hands is not moving at the correct pace.
- Watch battery
replacement. The most common
issue with the majority of watches. There is a video of
replacing the watch but if your watch is expensive or
has sentimental value, it is best to bring it to an
authorized watchmaker.
- Damage from improper care
and accidents. Unfortunately we cannot always
be 100% sure that we are careful with watches and even
small bumps can damage a watch. If the damage is not too
bad, there is chance for repair but otherwise you may need
to have it replaced.
- Water damage unless marked
as water resistant. Water damage for the most
part will ruin the watch. If it is not too much water, a
common practice is to put it in a cup of rice. This is
something you can always try, if not then the watch can not
be fixed. On the other hand, if your watch is "water proof"
and gets water damage, it should be covered under the
warranty of the manufacture.
Fossil Watch Metro Service
Center
Your Fossil watch is covered up to eleven
years from date of purchase under the warranty. The warranty
covers manufacture defects and workmanship errors. The company
that deals with Fossil watch and product repairs is Metro
Service Center. They have a printable form to send out which
can be found in the Resources box. Metro Service Center is the
company that is affiliated with Fossil and handles the repair
claims. It is based out of Dallas, Texas so it generally takes
about 4-6 weeks for repairs to finalize and be sent back to
you. They have had a long track record with their collaboration
with Fossil and they have excellent customer
service.
Not always will you need to use Metro
Service Center for bigger damages. You can contact the fossil
watch repair center if you need to replace the battery,
adjustments, or if you need extra links as well. You can go
directly to a Fossil store or download their PDF form to use
when sending out the watch, whichever is more convenient. It is
best to go to an authorized Fossil store because since they
ship out the watch, they assume the liability for their packing
and are responsible if anything goes wrong.
